Re:

When you run a tracer route, it shows the path from your computer to where you want to go. In this instance, it is from your computer to Runboard, so it is tracing your personal connection. If the time out place is at Runboard, then it would be Runboard's server, but your time outs are very near to where you live. That is how we know it is your connection along the pathway toward Runboard.

I am sorry your husband had to go through so much frustration. I also hope that things get fixed quickly. If it doesn't straighten up soon, you can call your provider and tell them what the tracer route showed.

We have had HP on the phone this morning spent a hour with them and it look's like it was sorted for about a few mins but its gone back to like it was.
They are saying it look's like its here because every web page we go on and we have tried around 50 sites this morning all work great but Runboards is a no no.

Re: frozen board

I spoke to umpteen different people at your ISP this morning (and raised my voice a bit with a few of them), and nobody seems to know what they're talking about. I went so far as to ask one of them if he was reading from a script, and he claimed he wasn't. He said he needs your account number to figure out the problem, but I know this isn't true. Someone on their Facebook page assured me that someone on their forums can help without an account number, and I've been waiting several minutes to receive a validation email to join their forum so I can post there.

Looking at your ISP's forums and Facebook page, there are a lot of unhappy campers there. Have you considered switching?

Switching to a different internet service provider. Seeing all their customer complaints on Facebook and in their forum, it sounds like they have a lot of issues.

Yes, they can all be having the same ISP problem if they all use the same ISP. Your friend and the person at Susa's board both use ISPs that are owned by the same parent company as yours, so they most likely go through the same servers.

I did my own trace route to your ISP's website, and there were 8 timeouts.

I posted on their forum, and am waiting for a reply. It could be a while before I report back, since it is after 6am where I am and I don't know how long it will take them to reply.

Hang in there.

We have people from Ireland and the US that cant cope with Runboasrds the way it is running a few people do not believe its IPS problem for everyone.
I think Runboards need's to go down another route to find the problem and fast or I'm going to end up with my board empty of people.

Re: frozen board

Hi Pat,

I finally received a reply at your ISP's forum. Hopefully, they can help get this sorted soon.

Runboard has no control over which servers your ISP sends you through. Imagine Runboard as a physical place, and you have to take multiple trains to get here.

You get on the first train, then switch trains because the first one doesn't come all the way here.

The second train reaches the end of its route, and you get on the third train.

The third train breaks down.

These three trains are all owned by the same company. In this analogy, the 'train' symbolizes a server that is owned by your ISP. You would have eventually gotten on another train that is owned by a different company, and taken a few more trains after that, but it took too long to get the third train moving again, and now you're stuck.

There hasn't been a drop in traffic at your board. In fact, there has been a little more activity there in the days following your initial report than there was before your report. Here's a graph of your board's activity to show you. The vertical line is when you first reported the issue.

I understand what it's like to not be able to reach a site that you need to moderate. That has happened to me before, and it can be quite frustrating. I hope your ISP will sort this out soon, because that's where the issue is happening, and I will keep nagging them until the issue is resolved.

Re: frozen board

How many people are having trouble? Two? Three? Out of how many members?

474 posts were made at your board the day before you reported this.
500 posts were made at your board on the day you reported this.
552 posts were made at your board the day after you reported this.
574 posts were made at your board two days after you reported this.

If the problem was on Runboard's end, you would have seen a drastic decrease in posts when it started happening; but instead, the number of posts have increased.

I know from your traceroute that the problem is with a server that is run by your ISP. Do you really want to throw away 6½ years of your board's history over a problem with your ISP? A lot of people have been having trouble with them, not just you. If you read their forums and Facebook page, you'll see a lot of complaints.

You don't need to leave Runboard. You need to find a better ISP, because that is where the problem lies. Just look at the traceroute for yourself, and you should see that.

Im running through Google and that is fine now but I cant run through Internet Explorer because Runboards is not compatable to do so.
Im not packing in with Runboards now Im running it on Google my ISP is good on that.
Posts daily are good at my board but I do have to say most of them are in the games Ive 3 people who post in games 3 and 4 times a day so post count builds up.
There is 4 of us that cant post but they might be more because Ive not seen everyone.
