My Music isn't Oldies.. Not really Classics... lol.. Here is what I think.. My own little opinionated Baised View of music.. Oldies:30's-50's Elvis Chuck Berry Buddy Holly Muddy Waters BB King Frank Sinatra Robert Johnson Classic:60's-70's Pink Floyd Led Zepplin The Doors The Beatles Rolling Stones Beach Boys Lynrd Skynrd Black Sabbath Queen (Thats For Susana ) and so on.. Then you have the Spirit of 77 Punk Rockers Like: Sex Pistols New York Dolls Ramones (sorta kinda In this Genre) Television X MC5 Iggy and The Stooges The Clash Xray Spex (correct me if I'm wrong on this one) and so on.. Now comes the whole Hair band glam rock era The 80's Poison Motley Crue Def leppard Warrant Guns and Roses Damned Yankees and so on.. Then in the eighties.. You had people get tired of the glam stuff.. They Became two different era's of music.. Heavy Metal: Metallica Pantera Iron maiden Judas priest Dio Motorhead and so on.. And then there was Punk Hardcore at the same time.. mostly underground bands.. bands that hated corporate rock like.. Minor Threat Black Flag Anti Flag bad Religion Scratch Acid Social Distortion Degeneration X The Germs a Bunch of 'The Names I'm not allowed to mention here' Circle Jerks Dead kennedys Then a lot of Punk groups went further underground.. some Decided they wanted to do more guitar solo's instead of the Notorious 3 chord punk 'riffs'.. Until The 90's at least in my opinion punk died.. then from out of Seattle a new beast was born... A dirty 'dirge' rock that was almost like a Cross Between Punk Metal and Blues.. This was My era.. the first music I dicovered on my own.. yes the Gods of Music banged their Ugly heads and Made grunge: Nirvana pearl Jam Mudhoney Meatpuppets Sound Garden Sonic youth Alice in chains Red Hot Chili Peppers (Yes they are grunge to me) Flaming lips (i consider them grunge.. anyone who writes about using Vaseline on toast instead of Jelly is as grunge as it gets for me lol) And then well.. In my opion Rock hid it's face in shame lol. sure there are a lot of good bands since after the grunge era.. but after that it was never really the same for me.. But Grunge can't be classic yet dude lol. ah well.. as you can see i have no life and all I do is research music stuff.. lol. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joshin Josh)Tue, 21 Feb 2006 17:55:11 +0000 Re: I feel Old.. lol.https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3333,from=rss#post3333https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3333,from=rss#post3333Joshin Josh wrote: Thats scary.. having your favorite music called Classic.. lol.
