 Just Curious...
Where everyone is from and what got you to start a message board?
What led you to choosing Runboard instead of other message board sites?
I am from Topeka, Kansas. I decided to start a message board for weight loss two yrs ago on yahell, my ID got deleted and I got shut out of my board so I went to MSN. It has been a learning experience on MSN for which I am grateful. However, MSN groups are not without there issues as sometimes it takes five minutes to post a simple Hi how ya doin?
I decided to branch out and spent a better part of a day looking at other message board forums to see which one offered the most creative flexibility, and I was very impressed with Runboard. I am even learning more about HTML being on Runboard.
I have a blog on iBlogger for storage of my designs, and I also have a blog on yahoo 360, so I have my hands in a few other places in cyberspace.

Hello and welcome here wildheart4vr Glad you like runboard..
For about the first 5 or 6 years I was on the internet I spent most of my time in a chatroom.. somewhere around 2002 that chatroom died and the owner stopped hosting it.. all the people I had met were in search for a new chatroom.. I ended up just talking to my friends in MSN and yahoo instant messengers.. and started making websites.. A friend (Belligerence) had a website and Me and a few other people started To flood her Guestbook with Chatter and such.. so She made a Forum.. Which Happened to Be a Runboard.
I joined Her board under the User name DJ Do0d on August 24, 2004. Soon after I started to browse around runboard and I changed my Nickname cause everyone asked what Do0d was lol.
And the rest Is history.. or something like that.

I joined a radio station messageboard back in 2002 but it was deleted without warning soon after (classy, eh?). Some of us started a new, self-hosted Invision board, but the Admin was incompetent and by 2004 we wanted to start another board.
One of us Googled and found Runboard. We like it here.

You serious want to know some long winded info like this? Ok here goes mine.
About 5 years ago I just got into the internet and learnt how it worked, I was searching for some info and when I hadn't a clue as to how to search, I put in www.blahblah.com (yup that site is now closed or got deleted but a stupid person). I got onto a message board but had no idea what it was all about.
For a while I read and got the idea and then finally joined, got hooked and wanted a similar of my own. Looked ages for places and came across Amioo, was ok util pop-ups started.
Hunted a while more, came across as Runboard nearly 3 years ago as (museum) and stuck ever since

A few years ago, I was idly looking at authors' websites, specifically the Robin Hobb one. It seemed she had a discussion group on her site but was closing it down, for lack of time.
One of the members there mentioned she had started a message board so that members could continue to meet. That was on Runboard (actually, Akheva back then). I tiptoed around that message board for a while, and one day I just had to comment, got an account and never looked back.

~ Many moons ago, I stumbled upon a famous fantasy writers msgboard/forum where I made alot of friends.
Some of them are still with me at MBP today. This certain msgboard had several serverissues and changes,so it had a lot of downtime.
Some of those friends started a backup board at EZ and I followed.
After a few months time, I thought : 'Hey, I can do this too' , so I went off starting the early version of MBP
I had no real goal at the time, other than having fun and talk with other ppl having the same general interests as me.
~~2. What made you choose Runboard?~~
~ When I, and my members, was fed up with EZ, I got a few suggestion on where to start a new board,but I didnt like any of them.
I googled and surfed through a bunch of msgboard providers, even opened a few boards to see how it went, and it turned out that Runboard gave me the freedom I needed to proceed.
So, here we are.

I am from Vermont.
I think I was just looking for a place for people to hang out who had depression, and thought it would be interesting to start my own board. Also, I had my own website at the time, too.
(I can't remember why exactly because 3 years affects my memory.  )
I believe I chose runboard/akheva because it was free, it didn't have adds...well, I just liked the looks of it. It's the best place for message boards I've ever seen!

I am from Ohio.
I think my board is actually a little sad for this site, but I'm trying to get my message out to the general public about Sharon Marshall, someone somewhere knows who this little girl was. She was kidnapped in the early seventies and even the FBI can't fiure out her identity. She died in 1995 as a result of a hit and run accident.

Hi, I am from Texas, I wanted to make it easy for people to reach me so I added a chatroom to my website. Being raised on BBS' I was never very fond of the chat thing so I got to looking around one day and found message boards. Perfect fit for what I do

WOW I had been away from this board for awhile and had no idea this was even still being replied to. Thanks for letting me to get to know you all. As with real time outside the box it is always nice to have an idea how people come into your life online as well.
