Good Morning Becky! Good Morning World!

I don't think I have any relationships to mend. Thankfully.

I have lots of students today so I had better move along.

Good Morning and happy birthday to the Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen (April 2, 1805 – August 4, 1875).

Today is called the "International Children's Book Day" in his honor so today surprise a child by giving them a book. emoticon

In America it is also National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day.

It's been a long time but maybe I'll have a PB&J sandwich with my coffee to celebrate. emoticon

The timing is perfect for those who live in Texas (the forecast is for storms and rain and more storms).

GOOD TUESDAY MY FRIENDS!
Had a fabulous day out yesterday. Found some great bargains, then we hit the plant stores and got lucky. All the geraniums were just being put out. So Mom and me got all we could handle. Now today I need to get out there and get them all potted up and placed. If it gets cold later, all I have to do is put a big garbage bag over them. Just like I used to do in MN!
Next week we start "Spring cleaning" on Mom's place. So we'll both be done, then we might actually get to go camping or fishing over the weekends when Hubby is not working!
I also borrowed Dad's little trailer, to fill up with old wood, leaves, rose clippings...just 'junk' that the former owner has laying around. Then I can make a 'dump' run this weekend. But for today....catching up on laundry, potting all those plants and then grilling hot dogs for dinner.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Hey Susa, good for you. Actually I don't have any to mend either. Pastor Rick, I almost picked the PB & J day but decided on Reconciliation instead. I haven't had one in ages either. I love peanut butter but no jelly on it. emoticon

Oh. I would like a P & J sandwich. Maybe I will have that tomorrow for lunch.

So much to eat, but so few meals to do it in a day.

Morning all. Pastor Rick, mmm Reeses cups and Jelly Beans! I like it. emoticon Getting ready to head out to work in a few. Hoping for a quiet day so I can sneak online and play.. emoticon

Today is Tweed Day!

Tweed Day celebrates one of two things. Either it celebrates the warm, fashionable woolen clothing that originated in Scotland. Seemingly always in fashion, Tweed keeps you warm and looks good, too. It should come as no surprise to learn that tweed is more popular in the north, and not often worn in the south.

Or,...it celebrates the birthday of a corrupt , New York City politician.

William Magear "Boss" Tweed, who was born on April 3, 1823. Boss Tweed was a politician from NYC. He was a U.S. Senator, and a NY State Senator. His claim to fame was being convicted of graft and corruption, for stealing millions of dollars from NYC. Our problem with this theory is why a special day for a convicted crook!?

We 'd like to believe that Tweed Day celebrates Tweed suits. Conversely, do we really want to celebrate the birth date of a crook??? We'll let you make the call.

Definition of Tweed: Originating in Scotland, tweed is a thick woolen , twill styled material. Tweed jackets, suits and slacks are popular.

Wearing something tweed from your wardrobe is an absolute must today. But better still, buy a new tweed outfit and wear it today.

GOOD WEDNESDAY APRIL 3rd my FRIENDS!
Well, yesterday I finished up getting the plants in the pots and got all the old wood, chunks of old fencing and the rest of the 'garbage' all in the small trailer. Have to wait for hubby's help in loading up two fence posts, that had been cemented in. They have a chunk of cement around the bottom of each that must weigh, 50 lbs each. And I have to carry them from the back yard and toss them into a trailer. I'll wait! LOL But it looks so much better. I left the pruning of the Rose bushes. I think because of the super cold spell we had for so long, a lot of them may be dead. So giving them more time to show signs of life before I try pruning. May end up tearing up and replacing. But, I got a lot of work done! Not quite as nice today. A bit cooler, some clouds. But yesterday we hit 75!!! By this weekend only in the low 60's for our highs and high 30's for our lows. Will have to watch the temps and put garbage bags over the potted plants if it gets close to freezing. For me today...going to take it a bit easy I think. Catch up with all my emails, maybe clean a bit.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!!

Good morning gang! Decided from now on I refuse to do 'Fly By Posting' and simply paste in the same reply on every board. It's totally rude. So might take me a bit longer to work my way around especially at work but I'll get here. emoticon Hope you are all having a great start to the day!

Today is Walk Around Things Day!

Walk Around Things Day is an important day to avoid problems and risks, by simply walking around the potential problem. You wouldn't walk under a ladder, would you? Then, it is also wise to walk around objects, especially those that pose risk or danger.

"Walk around things" can also be used figuratively. It is also wise to walk around, or avoid, topics issues, and problems that are sticky, may provoke an argument, or are not readily solved.

If ever was a day to "Walk Around Things", today is that day.

The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind. ~William Blake

HI DI HO AND GOOD THURSDAY MY FRIENDS!!
Well, never did end up taking it easy yesterday! LMAO So typical of me. Ended up digging all the old wood, edging, etc. that was rotting under some Juniper trees, dug out and loaded into the 'dump trailer'.....then used the blower and rake to get all the old leaves that had blown into the lava rock the previous owner has around everything....cleaned out. THEN.....dug out the lawn mower and mowed all those old leaves up, as well as the rest of the yard, then came in and cleaned cat boxes, because they changed our regular garbage pick up from Friday to Thursday.......so, 6 hours later......I was done! In more ways than one! LOL emoticon But now today, my Dad can come get his trailer back, we can make a "Dump run"....and other than a bit more rose pruning, and regular weekly maintenance..I should be caught up. Now can go help MOM do her Spring cleaning.
Today.......HOPEFULLY.......I can take it easy! emoticon

Today would have been my mom's B-day... It feels strange because I had always taken her out for a B-day dinner...

Anyway, my job is over 25 miles away so I won't celebrate "National Walk to Work" day...
