Re: forum color
Where it says
Forum list master table background color
Forum list table background color
Forum list table first alternate background color
Forum list table second alternate background color
These would be located in your board's control panel then click Edit layout / Colors of your board...
Go there and take out any data that's in the cells ( IE: #000000 ) so that it'd all be blank under the above sections
Then go to the top of the page and click
Copy forum list settings to topic list settings
Copy forum list settings to post list settings
This'll apply it to the main page / topics page / post pages if that's how you want it

Re: forum color
Ah...I see why...
In your Custom CSS which is in your control panel / Edit layout colors of your board / Edit Custom CSS...
Find the area that says
/* MOUSEOVER FORUM/TOPIC ROW (TURNED ON BY DEFAULT) */
.ak_tl_topicrow_mouseover_on, .ak_fl_forumrow_mouseover_on {background-color:#424242;padding:5px}
.ak_tl_topicrow_mouseover_off, .ak_fl_forumrow_mouseover_off {background-color:#2B2B2B;padding:5px}
That's where the colour is coming from...Go ahead and delete that...
By the by...I tested the layout on one of my test boards...The font's kinda hard to read on that background image so I dunno if it's a good idea for you to do this...I understand you want the BG to show...Just a thought

Re: forum color
On unrelated issues, I see you have left a <marquee> tag open in your HTML header.
<marquee direction="left" behavior="scroll" scrollamount="4" width="100%">
<!-- EDIT THE SCROLLING TEXT ABOVE THIS -->
Welcome to .:The Sins:. forums
Add </marquee> after that.
Also, there is a bug in the Energy layout. In your custom CSS, add clear:both; to the sepbar and it will fix that.
.sepbar {background-color:#faf102;background-image:url(http://img.runboard.com/img/layouts/defj_1/separator.gif); background-repeat:no-repeat;background-position:right;height:20px;width:100%;font-family:verdana,tahoma; font-size:12px;color:#000000;padding-top:5px;clear:both;}
I agree with Belligerence that making that background transparent would make it difficult (if not impossible) to read the text. Before you try making any changes like that, make sure to back up your existing code on Notepad first so you can put it back in.

Re: forum color
For one...I'm not really good with image creation...For two...It's your board and you should design it how you want it...Search around online and see if you can find a background image that suits what you like or learn how to make images yourself...Best suggestion I got for ya...

Re: forum color
If you're not familiar with image editing programs, your best bet would probably be to find another image online as Belli suggests.
If you are familiar with image editing programs such as PSP, Photoshop, or the Gimp, you could try adding a one-color layer over your existing image, decreasing the opacity on the new layer, making the image a bit calmer, so the text on your board will be more readable.
