Messed up forum?
hi, I just want to check my forum's okay. The newist member welcome bit seems to have messed up. It says "Our newist member: Zamco" Even though he was actualy the 2nd member to join, and the newist member is actualy karin666. It only seems to have messed up like this now, and was working fine before with new members.
Is this just a one off bug, or is there a problem with my board?
Thanks,
-Eddie

Oh what? This is just great, now its messed up even more. Apprently I'm the newist member now, that sucks.
Ads have been put onto my site, do you think they could cause the problem temp?

Re: Messed up forum?
I'm pretty sure it isn't a problem really. I've noticed it on other boards before. You could have been a member for a while, but you post something one day and it'll count you as being the newest member. I've also seen it on boards without the google ads so I don't think it's them causing it.

Re: Messed up forum?
Each board has two types of membership lists.
Firstly, there is the Board Membership List. This is a global list.
Then, there is the Forum Membership List. This is specific to a particular forum.
The default is for each forum on a board to use the Board's Membership List.
But, any or every forum on a board can have its own individual membership list. The forum's security settings can be changed so it no longer uses the Board's Membership List (this is normal for restricted access forums). In that case, a Forum Membership List is created.
So, you can be a Board Member for twenty years and then become a member of a restricted forum on the same board - you'll show up in the 'Newest member' list.

Re: Messed up forum?
Google ads show on all boards without premium views - but there is a grace period of one week after creating a new one.
