Usually they want on as admin because they have some HTML skills and they want to put their 'look' on your board or want to have bragging rights. That sounds harsh, but tis true nonetheless nondisclosed_email@example.com (NOSHIPFOREVER)Tue, 06 Dec 2005 22:16:39 +0000 Re: How do I find Admins and Mods for my board?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3951,from=rss#post3951https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3951,from=rss#post3951I co-own a board with a buddy from high school, so I know I have a trustworthy person there, as we have been out of school for some time now.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Demonic Inuyasha)Tue, 29 Nov 2005 17:14:55 +0000 Re: How do I find Admins and Mods for my board?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3950,from=rss#post3950https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3950,from=rss#post3950I co-own a forum with someone i played hockey with and are in some of my classes. If they continue on, then do not hesitate to revoke their privileges. They were given them for the reason that they would help with the board, they don't deserve them if they don't.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Demonic Inuyasha)Thu, 17 Nov 2005 14:24:39 +0000 Re: How do I find Admins and Mods for my board?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3946,from=rss#post3946https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3946,from=rss#post3946Following on from what Firle has said, some board owners have friends they know from elsewhere who follow them over and if you feel you can truely trust them, then you are sure to make a match made in heaven. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Sertab)Tue, 15 Nov 2005 22:52:05 +0000 How do I find Admins and Mods for my board?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3945,from=rss#post3945https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p3945,from=rss#post3945First of all, take your time. Small boards usually don't need any admins beside the owner. Only when the post rate goes up and many new members join, having mods and admins can be a substantial help. Admins have the power to change a board completely, so make sure you trust your admins. That means you have to take the time to get to know a member. In addition, you should make sure your future staff knows a bit about the workings of runboard, some html and CSS. These things help tremendously. The best way is to make someone a moderator first. See how this person handles the power, handles other members and small conflicts. Once a moderator has proven his or her mettle, you can promote them to admin. Following these steps, you'll find a dependable, helpful crew. Giving out mod or admin positions as a reward for new members is a big mistake, on the other hand. There are several cases of owners and admins getting into a fight, with the board lost as a result. Don't fall for this "easy solution". nondisclosed_email@example.com (Firlefanz)Tue, 15 Nov 2005 15:09:35 +0000
