The Public section you see indicates what channel (room) you are in. The private section indicates windows only you see the Status window shows you that you are connected to the server.. and also shows information you send or are sent (pings, version query's, nickname changes ect.) The private 'area' is also used for when you get private messages from other users. I believe you are allowed to create your own channel (room) by typing in this command line: /join #YourChannelName (make sure you do add the #) nondisclosed_email@example.com (Joshin Josh)Sat, 22 Apr 2006 01:35:52 +0000 Re: Chatroom- Private feature?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4213,from=rss#post4213https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4213,from=rss#post4213I guess I am just not familiar with all the details... when I click on 'chat', like at the bottom of this page, a chatroom opens. ( I have never used chatrooms before, sorry for my ignorance on the subject) When the window opens, it says "Runboard.com chat room", so I assumed it was run by Runboard. At the bottom of the chat window, there are 2 boxes/arrows, one says 'public' one says 'private'. Next to the 'public' arrow, there is a rectangle that says #Runboard. Next to the 'private' one it says 'status'. I was just wondering if that meant there was an option for members to have private chats. thank younondisclosed_email@example.com (selavie)Sat, 22 Apr 2006 00:57:09 +0000 Re: Chatroom- Private feature?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4212,from=rss#post4212https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4212,from=rss#post4212Runboard doesn't provide chat rooms - they would be a 'third party' option and you'd need to ask the chat room provider about arranging privacy. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rimmer)Wed, 19 Apr 2006 03:52:11 +0000 Chatroom- Private feature?https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4211,from=rss#post4211https://btherunboarddirectory.runboard.com/p4211,from=rss#post4211I see 'private' as an option, but it does not seem to work. Does anyone know if we can make a private chatroom, and how only members of your forum can participate? Thanks.nondisclosed_email@example.com (selavie)Wed, 19 Apr 2006 02:45:10 +0000
